What is "spot paint" repair?

“Spot paint” repair is a technique used to repair minor blemishes on bumpers. Spot painting a bumper can save you money in lieu of extensive bumper work; however, the spot paint repair technique is not recommended over a complete bumper repaint and can only be used on specific areas of your bumper.
Using this unique paint process, our technicians can perform isolated spot painting and blending over a damaged area rather than painting the entire bumper. This service is only available for specific areas of the bumper, in the corners, near the bottom, or adjacent to wheel wells. We do not recommend spot painting for the mid-bumper, or on vehicles with pearl finishes.

Will a repair be absolutely color matched?

Yes, your bumper will be restored to like-new and pre-accident condition. We use the factory color paint codes that are included with every vehicle, and color match according to this code. Color matching works in the following manner.
First, our technician takes the paint code from your vehicle and enters it into the computer. Specialized paint software gives us a formula for matching our paint to the factory specification. Sometimes however, a factory color code may yield a color that could be a few shades lighter or darker than the original. This is where the “art of color matching” begins.

Our paint experts will use sample paint cards to ensure the best color matching possible. Using very specific tinting methods, we match new paint to old on the paint cards, and they are compared in the shade, sun, and from multiple angles.

How much bumper repair cost?

Charges for bumper, key-scratch, and paint repair depend on the type of repair.

A - complete bumper repaint

B - refinishing bumper and complete bumper (this is for dents in bumpers, plastic cracks or holes)

C - spot paint repair (this is for minor scratches in corner, bottom lip or side of a bumper, near an edge of a panel or below a body line).

How long does it take?

Bumper repair is usually completed in 3-4 days, depending on the type of damage and repair strategy. The procedure is as follows:
-remove bumper from vehicle and assess damage
- perform bodywork on deep scratches, chips, punctures etc.
- prep and prime bumper-typical curing time of 24 hrs is necessary to prevent chemical reactions between the paint and primer
- color matching and repainting bumper, including paint, clear-coat and UV light curing time takes approximately 6-8 hours
- color sanding and polishing- this step helps ensure a factory finish texture ( this attention to detail is what makes our work stand out from the competition)

Can I wash my car after the repair?

Yes. Although our bumper repair process takes considerably longer than our PDR service, once the repair is complete you can wash, wax, or detail your vehicle right away.
It is true that our bumper repair process take longer then mobile repair service. On the other hand the quality of our repair is much greater then with mobile service. You can wash or wax your bumper right away. In fact your bumper is polished and color sand it in final bumper repair process.

Do I need to replace my bumper?

Most of the time we can save you considerable money by repairing your existing bumper. Because a typical bumper can cost anywhere from $250 to over $1000, we will determine your best option before proceeding. In addition, most bumpers have molding, spoilers, or other attachments that must be purchased separately thereby significantly increasing cost. Repairing your bumper will always be our first option; however, If the repair cannot be made to our standard, we will suggest replacement.
Please note that in the event a new bumper is necessary, it does not come pre-painted.
In any event, we will find the best option for your budget.

Can it be fixed? 

In some instances there is damage to a bumper that cannot be repaired. For example, a bumper is damaged at the location where clips attach it to the vehicle body; the panel is too stretched or the damage severe; a bumper that is textured; a bumper that is not painted. An unpainted bumper would include those found on some Jeep Wranglers, Honda Elements, and other SUV’s. Although some of these bumpers may be partially fixed, there is a limited warranty, and we do suggest replacement.
